Thank you for visiting the registration and information site of the upcoming ISAP conferences. There are two identical conferences to allow for the uninterrupted service to clients. Each organization is asked to divide their staff evenly into two groups and send one group to the first conference and the other group to the second conference.
The conferences are funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and are being held in Toronto, Ontario at the Westin Harbour Castle (1 Harbour Square - Toronto, Ontario - M5J 1A6 - 416-869-1600)
Conference # 1 – March 9 to 11, 2010
Conference # 2 – March 30 to April 1, 2010
Those eligible to attend are all management and staff delivering the following programs:
- ISAP (Immigrant Settlement and Adaptation Program)
- JSW (Job Search Workshop)
- SWIS (Settlement Workers in Schools Program)
- LSP (Library Settlement Partnership)
- ELT (Enhanced Language Training) Job Developers and Settlement Workers only
- HOST Program
- NSP (Newcomer Settlement Program) Provincial Settlement Workers (Ontario)
Note – There are 800 spaces for each conference. Once the conference limit has been reached registration will be cut-off. Registration deadline is Noon, February 22, 2010.
The purpose is to:
- Educate and inform all settlement workers on CIC's modernized approach to settlement programs, the new terms and conditions, so there is a common understanding and cohesion in moving forward for the delivery of CIC funded settlement services within the sector
- Increase the skill-set of those working in the settlement sector through professional development workshops and presentations
- Share promising practices developed by delegates and organizations
- Build and strengthen a network of contacts between delegates and organizations
- Acknowledge the dedication and commitment of all those working in the settlement sector
